Ah, Yes. Academia.

The Jawa Report has the scoop on a radical leftist, Dr. Jane Christensen, weeping for terrorists and demanding the deaths of "those murdering bastards" (you know, U.S. troops), as well as forcing her views upon her students in a fashion I have never seen at my institution. She also has a nice conspiracy site proclaiming that 9-11 was perpetrated by the CIA and J-O-O-O-s.

Why do these people hide out in academia? No one else would tolerate them. At least I can cross another school off of the list of those my kids can attend.

  • Hammer,

As disturbing as it might be...I'm not convinced they all do hide out in the academic world. Like I've said before, I've ran into many out here in the world who voice very similiar opinions. It's just that in the academic world, they are often more educated, therefore, more eloquent and, in the name of diviersity, able to speak their mind more openly without worrying possible repercussion to their employment/business. I find it both curious and comforting that Eason Jordan didn't let loose his little rant while on U.S. soil...and that Rather is gone and Kopel is going
So there's plenty of room for hope; but my friend...there may be far more out there who believe this stuff than we'd like to think.

  • Yep, there are tons of people who believe this kind of stuff, but you'll find the wakos on both sides. Whether it is government chips in people's heads, rapture any day now, stolen and almost stolen elections, liberal media conspiracies, etc., etc. I'd even wager most people believe one or two wako things from time to time.
